My application

Postby Mary Joy V Santiago on Fri Sep 09, 2005 5:45 am

Sir,

I just want to ask some question that nobody could answer except you. I am applying for a work permit. I submitted my application last January, and a friend of mine submitted her application a week ahead of me. Last July she was informed by the embassy that her application is already approved. A month after she was already interviewed and had her medical examination. This time she is waiting for her VISA to be release.
I want to know why at this time I was not called by the embassy though my friend and I have the same case. In what way should my application be approve immediately?

God Bless...

It sounds like you have applied for permanent resident status, and not for a work permit. There are normal differences in the processing of cases at any given visa office which can account for differences of several months in the delays incurred. In addition, as no two cases are exactly alike, these individual variances can also compound differences. Finally, it is possible that your friend was granted an interview waiver, and that your case is in the interview queue.

If you feel that your case has fallen outside of the published service standards for your visa office, then a written inquiry may be warranted.
