multiple entrance visit visa and Work permit?

Postby wadja on Tue Jan 04, 2011 8:21 pm

hi everyone, I am planning to visit Canada next month using a multiple entrance tourist visa, However, if I will get a job offer while I am inside Canada, is that possible to exit on the border of us and do a u-turn again to collect a work permit from the port of entry, (because, such an application will generally need to be submitted to a location outside of Canada such as a visa office abroad or a Canadian port of entry ) or I have to submit it from my country (my country is not visa exempt) ?
Also, if I got the offer letter in my first month visit, is there a time enough to process everything in the remaining duration of my entry (6 months)? or I have t leave the country for an interview with an immigration officer outside Canada in any situation? thank you so much for your immediate answer

If you are not passport visa exempt, then your work permit application would have to be processed at a visa office outside Canada. Most types of work permit applications can be concluded within 6 months. If an interview is required during such processing, it will be held at the visa office responsible for the application.
