Myself, my canadin wife and two sons wish to move to Alberta and live. what do I need to gain entry to canada and can I apply for PR whist in Canada.

You may seek admission to Canada as a visitor at any time. Your admissibility will be governed by the standard requirements for such. Once in Canada, you may seek sponsorship in Canada's family class and as a spouse; such a case can be processed within Canada. It is important to note that marriage to a Canadian does not automatically confer visitor admissibility.

You also have the option of applying for permanent resident status in the Family Class now and can still seek visitor admission while such a case is in progress. The best approach will be determined by the time frame within which you wish to be in Canada.
