Mistake on LMO

Postby chichiman on Thu May 19, 2011 8:31 pm

Hi everyone,

Please give me your insight on this problem. I have been working in Canada for the same employer for the last 2 years. My employer extended my job. I submitted an application to extend my work permit in the last week before expiry while waiting for an LMO.

The LMO came in positive today. However, my employer made a small mistake on the application. My actual salary and the salary listed on my work permit application is 52,000 per year. My employer listed 50,000 on the LMO application and that is what it was approved for. It is a very small difference (works out to less that $100 per month after taxes) but it is not a perfect match.

Will CIC reject my work permit extension due to this difference? Is there any way to correct this?

Thank you.

Hi everyone,

I called CIC and they answered this question. They said that as long as the salary is still within the range approved by HRSDC, they will accept the LMO confirmation.

In my case, the difference is only 2000 per year so that is still within the range. If it was more than 5000, that could create a problem.

Thank you
