Minimum experience required for Canadian work permit

Postby chandandg on Wed Jan 24, 2007 2:36 pm

Hi David,

I would like to know whether there is any minimum amount of IT Industry experience required for somebody to get a work permit. Somebody told me that at least 2 years of industry experience is required to get a work permit for deputation (working onsite for a foreign company in the premises of a Canadian company) to Canada.

If the answer is that there is no such criteria, I would greatly appreciate it you could point me to a formal info source which I could use to substantiate that.

Thanks and Regards,

The Facilitated Processing of IT Workers program does generally require 2 years of experience. Applicants without such experience would be subject to the requirement of a Labour Market Opinion.
