I lost my work permit for the live-in-caregiver program yesterday while traveling to the US. WIthout the paper in my passport I got into Canada no problem. Now my question...do I need the original work permit in my passport in general or can I keep it at home? Would a copy in my passport be enough? I need to go back to the US in a few days but won't get a replacement for my work permit that fast. Can I use the copy instead, or my old work permit which is still valid? Or will I have problems getting back in with the original being lost?
