LMO Application and Work Permit Extention

Postby RAJDEEP GILL on Sun Nov 13, 2011 9:27 pm

Dear David,

I am foreign worker in Canada with post-graduate work permit expiring in Dec 2011 and have to file for my extention but in concerns to this i have 2 queries

1. I am not sure if,I can work on implied status as my HR person told that I cant continue though I have position till Feb end. So,can i get some CIC document or link or contact number where my HR person can call and know that I am eligible to work on implied status?

2.I applied for LMO in Toronto in Aug 25 but have not heard anything till date and not even my employer. My employer is not ready to call HRDC,so can I call on their reference to know status of my application as my boss asked?

3.In case I dnt hear from HRDC,but I have to file extention to remain on status will my work permit be extended on basis of my employment letters as my employer is University as one of employer said that we can get it extended?

Will be looking forward to hear from your end.

Regards

R186(u) allows an individual to continue working under the conditions of an expired work permit, as long as they applied inland (i.e., via the Case Processing Centre in Vegreville) for a new work permit before the original work permit expired and have remained within Canada. If an LMO is required, one would not expect an approval to be granted in its absence.

Only the employer or its representative is permitted to contact Service Canada regarding a LMO application. You would not be permitted to receive information as the foreign worker in the case.
