Internal Transfer

Postby BHP on Wed Jul 04, 2007 11:00 pm

I am a bit exhausted and desperate for help. Due to personal and family business, I must return to my country for six months. My Boss told me that I can come back.

I've heard from a friend's lawyer that since I work for a company called AAA (not a real name) with multiple offices around the world and they have an office in my country. If I got a job at AAA in my country and six months later I call my boss to come back here to Toronto, I can skip the whole labour market opinion part because that can be treated as an internal transfer.

Has anyone in this forum done this before? Please advise, I am bit exhausted and tired. I don't really want to leave but I have no choice. Before I leave I want to make sure that everything is okay for me to return. The HR department had told me to inform them two months ahead of time to prepare the paperwork to bring me back.

The provisions of intra-company transfer are described on this site. To be eligible, you must be an executive, a senior manager, or a specialized knowledge worker. You must also have been employed by the company for a period of at least 12 months in the three years prior to the application.
