informing about changes

Postby lily72 on Sun Jul 09, 2006 11:07 pm

Hi,

I'm new to this forum, I decided to sign up because I saw that people are taking issues and questions seriously. :)

My situation is as follows: I applied for Skilled Worker PR (Federal program), almost 2 years ago. My file is "In Process" in Manila since Jan/2005 according to CIC services. At the time I stated that my preferred destination was Montreal QC. This year I moved to a new home with my Canadian boyfriend. BTW, we are both in Japan at the moment. In the future, we plan to move to Toronto.

My questions are:
1) What's the best way to inform changes to the consulate? Should I send the application form again, or a letter by fax/email is ok? The changes are: current address, marital status and city of destination.

2) Should my boyfriend write a letter too? Is it recommended that he supports the information (esp. the basis of changing destination)?

Thanks in advance for your help.

You should send a written communication stating the various changes and making clear reference to your name, date of birth, and file number. Any changes that can be documented (e.g., marital status) should be documented.

If you are changing your destination from Quebec to Ontario, you will no longer need a CSQ to qualify. An updated form stating this change may be requested by the visa office. You may also need to include relevant statutory documentation for your boyfriend if you are stating that you are in a common-law partnersip.
