In-Canada Spouse Sponsorship x work permission

Postby andersonmm on Tue Oct 04, 2011 3:44 pm

To be short... I am being sponsored by my wife In-Canada for the permanent residency and we have sent a Open Work Permission application at the same time (and in the same envelope) as the main sponsorship application.

My question: While I'm still waiting for the Approval in principle stage of the sponsorship application (it still can take up to 11 months), If I get a LMO letter/job offer from a employer, could I apply for a Work Permission outside Canada even I am In-Canada?

Thank you !

Yes, you could. If the case is submitted to a visa office abroad and an interview is required, it would be held at that visa office, however.
