Hi, I currently live in Australia and planning on going to Canada (in particularly Ottawa) next August to see some friends. But I plan to stay longer than 6 months and would I would like to find an easy job (eg as a waiter, receptionist, sales) in Ottawa and have some fun and enjoy the fun I have had with my friends.

Is it possible to obtain a Work Permit if I find employment? If so, how long for and what will I be expected to do?
