How long to go now ?

Postby new2canada on Mon Jun 12, 2006 4:11 am

Hi David,

First, thank you for your advice and assistance on this forum, it is greatly appreciated.

I have an application for PR (skilled worker) being processed at the moment.

I got a letter with the medical forms (telling me to do the medical - which I have now done), advising that an interview has been waived and requesting payment of the 'right of permanent residence fee' (also done).

Is there any way to know how long I will have to wait now ? I was under the impression that these things would happen (medical, final fee) right near the end before approval is given. Is it likely that approval will come shortly or could I still have quite a long wait ?

Thanks for your advice.

The typical delay at this stage is 3-5 months, although this can vary considerably depending on which visa office is involved.

Thanks David !

Can you tell me what 'event' should happen next ? Is the next step a request for my passport ?

I have been regularly checking the CIC website to see the status of my application, however it just says 'In Process'. Will I see anything more detailed than this as things progress ?

Thanks Again.

Assuming that there are no outstanding requirements for the case, the next step should be the request for the passport.
