I arrived in Canada on July 28, 2007 having a WX-1 Worker VISA. I will spend 4-5 months stuyding at Dalhousie University, NS. I know that my type of VISA does not allow me to work in Canada.

1- Is it possible to get a SIN (Social Inssurance Number) card having WX-1 Worker VISA?

2- Is it possible to change the cathegory of my VISA to a Student VISA being here in Canada without the need for applying from my country or residence for a Student VISA? (Cuba).

A WX-1 is a (business) visitor visa. It does not entitle its bearer to a social insurance number in Canada.
