having 2 work permit for different employer

Postby makkie_c on Tue Feb 01, 2011 6:31 am

hi david
my situation is that i have work in canada for 2 years under employers A and my work permit with them have been renewed for another 2 years, but just before that extention came , i have been offered for another job and a posiitive LMO waS given by employer B. Both work permit came with a difference of 2 weeks. i didn't work with employer B till i recieved my work permit for them.

my question:
1. Can i work with both employer?
2. If yes can i work just casual/part-time with one employer and full- time with the other on?
3. Is there a written documentation from CIC where i can present to either employer?
4. would this affect my on going application for PR under skilled worker program?

Hoping for your deep insight to this situation

There is nothing preventing work for two employers in Canada if you have the proper authorization for each. If the work permit approvals were both based on LMO approvals, however, any such work for each employer must conform with the terms of that approval, including hours and terms of employment. It is impossible to say how this may effect a prospective PR application with the information available.
