Hi,

I am based in Germany and just got a W1 work visa for canada through the International Experiance Canada program for a job offer that does not require HRSDC approval. The validity of the visa is till apr 2011. I am interested to know that can I apply for the immigration PR points through that? Will my application be processed faster because of it? Bascially, will this help me somehow to immigrate to Canada?

I would probably need a lawyer to help me with this. If someone can also guide me on this end it would also be great.

Such a work permit can facilitate a permanent resident application if you either qualify for the provisions of Arranged Employment or if you come to meet the requirements of the Canadian Experience Class. There are numerous other factors that have to be assessed to determine the viability of any such case, however.
