Hi,
I am an Indonesian citizen and an H-1B visa holder, currently working for a US software company that has no branches in Canada. Based on my research, if I want to work remotely for this company from Canada:
a. I need a Temporary Resident Visa and a Work Permit, which allows me entry to Canada and can give me a maximum of 4 years legal stay. (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/informatio ... 5487E2.asp)
b. After 2 years of stay, I can apply for permanent residence in the Canadian Experience Class category. (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/ ... ly-who.asp)
c. For the work permit application, my employer only needs to provide a letter stating that I am an employee of the company.
d. My employer does not need to make any special tax changes for me. I will still file taxes with the IRS.
Are my above assumptions correct? Thank you for the help!
