Getting a job ??

Postby vizkiz on Mon Jun 05, 2006 1:38 pm

Hi Gurus

I am a computer professional working in IT as Windows / Uinx Administrator since last 4 years in the USA on H1B visa. Recently i got my PR Visa and would like to move to Canda in August.

But many of people are saying "its very difficult in getting a job in Canada " and dont go there and make your life miserable"...like that.

So i would like to know how much difficult it is getting a job over there ?
I understand it depends on..but in general i want to know the job prospects for the IT people over in Canada...

Please help me by replying me to these questions....
Even if i get less pay also...i am willing to relocate and settle overe there.
My goal is to settle there first and then slowly i will try to upgrade my skills as and when neccessary.

Thanks

There is no simple answer to your question. Anyone in Canada can have difficulty locating employment depending on their strategy and requirements.

The best approach is to begin using online job search services such as Workopolis and Monster to search for positions in your field. This will give you an immediate insight into the availability of such positions (remember that, by their nature, these services generally have more high-tech occupations listed). Responding to the ads will then give you an insight into the likelihood of getting the position.
