Thanks for a great forum - very informative. I am married to a Canadian citizen and we have been living outside of Canada for 3 yrs. I have never lived in Canada and we have now made the decision to move there. I have 2 questions:

1. The family visa appears to be the obvious one to apply for ito accompanying my wife to Canada. However, it is not our intention for her to work since we have a young baby (a registered Canadian citizen). In terms of sponsorship requirements, how would we overcome this? I have been offered a job in BC already and would be able to support us both this way.

2. The company is eager for me to arrive and start work in Canada asap. Would I be able to enter Canada on a temporary work visa whilst waiting for the permanent residency process to be completed? Once I then have PR status, would it be a simple conversion from temporary work status to permanent status with my employer?
