Facilitated Processing for Information Technology Workers

Hi,

I have three questions regarding Facilitated Processing for Information Technology Workers:

1. It is stated in the pilot project description page that "The facilitative process remains strictly targeted at workers entering the software sector on a temporary basis. It does not apply to individuals seeking permanent resident status in Canada." Does this mean if I enter Canda under this rule, I can not apply for skill worker (permanent residence) or if I do so and its process takes more than one year, will it be difficult to get the work permit for the next year?

2. What are the steps that the employer should take to get the national confirmation letter?

3. As proof of English skills, is it required that the employee takes IELTS exam?

Thanks,
Amir

In response to your questions:

1. There is no bar to applying for permanent resident status while in Canada on any type of work permit. The application would typically have to be submitted to a visa office outside of Canada, however.

2. There is no process for obtaining such. The immigration officials at the location at which the case is processed make the decision as to eligibility.

3. No, this is not a typical requirement.
