Extension of Certificat d'acceptation du Quebec possible

Postby davidt on Tue Mar 02, 2010 2:58 pm

Hi,

I was wondering if it is possible to extend my Certificate d'acceptation du Quebec (CAQ) or will I have to apply for a new one? I am thinking that if there is such an extension that the processing time will be much quicker?

I couldn't find any information regarding this on the internet.

Thanks

There is no CAQ extension process which differs form the standard process. You do need a new CAQ prior to extending a work permit for a Quebec position of employment, but would follow the normal process.

Thank you for your reply, so when can I start my application for a new CAQ? And what would happen if my CAQ does not get processed or returned before my work visa expires?

If my work visa expires before I get my new CAQ then I will not be able to apply for an extension to my work visa before it expires meaning that I will not be on implied status, is this correct? or will I be on implied status because I began my visa extension by starting with a new application of my CAQ?

thanks
