expired LMO

Hi, my husband has an offer of employment in Canada and the LMO is dated Jan 26, 2009.we have given application to the High Consul sometime in Feb 2009. We almost forgot about it, but last month, mid Jan 2011, we received a letter notifying him for his interview next month. What are the chances of approval yet the LMO is expired, but included in their letter to bring along an updated letter of offer and commencement date, the employer agreed to send a fresh letter of offer? But is it still possible? the LMO is long expired in Jan 2010.

The LMO expiration is the date by which the candidate must seek the work permit, which your husband has done. The lengthy processing delays may mean that the visa office may want proof that the offer is still valid, but they should not refuse the case on the basis of the expiration of the LMO.
