enquiry about border application

Postby nike4ever on Thu Mar 08, 2007 11:28 pm

Hi,

I am a Brunei Citizen. I like to know. If my employer gets a HRSDC confirmation. Can I apply work permit at the border? What kind of documents do I need other than the "Letter of employment", "HRSDC confirmation" and the "CAD$150"? And how long will the visa be valid for? Can it be issued as more than 1 year?

I don't want the long delay by applying abroad.

If that border application does not apply to Brunei citizen, can I get a friend as my representative and ask them to hand in my application within Canada?

I am currently in Canada as a visitor and will be leaving in April 2nd 2007.

Please advise. Thanks.

Citizens of Brunei are eligible to process a work permit with a Confirmation at a Canadian port of entry. The supporting documentation will vary depending on the case, as applicants are required to demonstrate that they meet National Occupational Classification requirements for the position.

The visa would typically be issued for up to the duration of the Confirmation's validity.
