End of my tether

Postby davida969 on Sun Oct 28, 2007 9:07 pm

Greetings all,

I currently reside in England yet want to Emigrate to Vancouver Island, BC sometime in July 2008 after I have graduated University with my mother and stepfather.

Our friends who we will be staying with for a while have informed us we can go to Canada on our passports and then apply in Canada for a Work Permit, presumably at the CIC Office in Vegreville, is this true? Can this avenue work?

My next question is with a work permit in place can you then apply for permanent residence via the skilled worker class as i will have my school, college and university qualifications as well as my managerial experience here in the UK?

Many thanks

Under the circumstances that you describe, a work permit application at the CPC in Vegreville would not be viable. An application at a visa office abroad would be required. You may subsequently apply for permanent resident status, again at a visa office abroad, but eligibility would depend on numerous eligibility factors not described here.
