and thanks in advance for any helpful answer you might give and please excuse my sorta lousy english !

I was on the Way to write a long report about our entire Immigration Process, but after re-reading it i spare you the details. But believe me, its more then fair to say that this is a looong story full of deceptions. I immigrate to Quebec , which is a little bit more complicated then immigrate to the rest of Canada.

The Person on the Phone (Immigration Office vegreville) gave us the advice 2 Years ago, to apply for both things at the same time: PR and Work Permit. And so we did.

And as stated earlier ; without going into more details ... we never heard from them, until today. We applied in the end of 2009 ! Some stuff, unfortunately , was missing .. so we corrected the mistake and went on. WAITING !

Today, my phone rings ... the woman told me, that my medical exam is now not valid anymore and i would need to re-do it , but she will APPROVE my application right now anyway.

We send the fees for PR and Work Permit at the same time (2 Years ago) , with all the application papers and documents requested. (PR + WP)

So she ask me : " What are the additional 150 Bucks for ? The Work Permit ? "
Me: " Yes "
She: " We didn't have any documents or application form from you for it , so please fill them out online and send it to us via Fax "
Me: " ok, will do asap "

In fact the phone call was more long then this , again, i spare you the details and come now right to my question :

Since i only have to re-do my Medical Exam ( i got an appointment for next Monday) , do i still need a Work Permit after all ?

My Wife and I are not that much into all this Bureaucratic Stuff, so we wonder ... since we read on the official Gov Website , that my right as a Permanent Resident will be to LIVE, WORK and STUDY everywhere in Canada ... if i need a Work Permit at all, once my Status got Approved !??

I hope i am able to deliver my concern about all this , because ... She should have tell me : "Hey, i just approved your PR Status, so you wont need a Work Permit anymore" .. instead she tell me, to fill out all the applications forms and send it to her via Fax.

So : What you think ? Do i need a Work Permit or not ?

You need to maintain your work permit until such time as you receive Canadian permanent resident status.
