Dependent visa holder's travel for workpermit holder

Postby granand on Fri May 07, 2010 4:13 am

Hi,
I have a query regarding a field in the Canada work permit application form.
There is one field "WILL ACCOMPANY YOU TO CANADA? for all the family members.
Does that Mean whether those family members are traveling with the principal applicant while entering Canada or does it mean whether those members are going to stay along with the principal applicant in Canada?

I am planning to apply for my whole family. After getting the approval, i will travel to Canada and then my wife and kid will come and join me after one month.

Will my family have any problem when they arrive at Canada? Any pointers regarding this would be highly appreciated!

Stating yes in this field would mean processing of the appropriate temporary resident visas for such family members. Assuming that they are approved, it not necessarily the case that they must travel with you on the original trip. Similarly, if you do not include them, that does not preclude their own separate applications at a later time.
