Dependent Visa for the spouse of a Canadian Work Permit

Postby nihelch on Sun Apr 17, 2011 1:35 pm

Hi,

My husband applied for work permit visa since he received a postdoctoral position in Canada from July 2011 until June 2013..
I plan to be a student in January 2012 and now I come with him as dependent.
I wanted to know which kind of visa I have to apply?
Can I apply also for work permit visa as dependent?? if yes, what are the documents required for dependent visa?
Thanks,

Nihel

You appear eligible to seek an open work permit or visitor admission on the basis of your spouse's work in a high skill occupation in Canada. Evidence of the marriage and of his work in Canada will be needed; other specific requirements including forms and supporting documentation depends on the means and location of submission of your case. Verification of requirements with the visa office in question is needed assuming that a port of entry application is not viable.
