dependent visa for spouse of a temporary worker

Postby mimfatih on Wed Oct 13, 2010 12:01 pm

Hello,

I am a research fellow in Turkey and I have got an invitation by the
University of McGill, Montreal. They have advised me to apply
to Citizenship and Immigration Canada for a work permit. So I will
apply to temporary work permit (1st Nov. 2010 to 1st Nov. 2011).
I am married and my wife will accompany me to Canada. She is a house
wife and won't work there.
Which kind of visa she needs to apply and which documents are required for her? For example is it necessary for her a record of previous conviction?
Thank you for your help.
Sincerely,

Fatih

It would appear that you would need only a temporary resident (i.e., visitor) visa for your spouse. Application requirements are published by the individual visa offices.
