Daily travel to Canada for work

Postby ffernandez5 on Sat Jun 16, 2007 6:12 pm

Hi all. I am new here. I tried to search for answers before posting but did not find anything regarding my specific situation.

I will be living in upstate New York later this year and, I will be 1 hour away from Montreal. I have seen many job postings in Montreal for the type of work I do, home renovations. I am skilled in many trades. I am a U.S resident not a citizen. Is it possible to travel on a daily basis to and from Canada to just work? If so, do I have any chances of being allowed to work in Canada as a skilled worker?

Thank you in advance.

You will need a work permit before you can travel to Canada to work. With a work permit, and as a permanent resident of the USA, you can travel back and forth daily to work.
