I have been in the process of applying for my work permit and VISA and everything seemed to be going smoothly until I found out that I was on record for a criminal conviction of a small assault charge six years ago. I was assured that this was not going to be put on record and I am shocked that it has been. Is this going to affect my application in a great way? Both myself and my wife are applying for citizenship, she's american and I am Irish.

If anyone could help me out I'd appreciate it
