Converting the dependant visa to work visa

Postby Narasimhan on Fri Jan 29, 2010 4:15 am

I am having the work permit visa valid for another 10 months and my wife is having the dependant visa. Now She is planning to go for a job. Is there any possibility to convert the dependant visa to work visa? If so what is procedure and how many days it will take to convert the same.

Depending on the skill level classification of the occupation your work permit is based on, your spouse may be eligible to seek an open work permit valid until the same date as that permit. Depending on nationality and the location to which such a case is submitted, this process can take anywhere between one day (i.e., processed at a port of entry) and 90 days (i.e., processed inland in Vegreville) on average.
