Contract work in Canada

Postby tengosandy on Mon May 14, 2007 1:26 am

I work for a company in TX that has a customer in Canada that wants us to install wifi equipment. What kind of permit do our 2 installers need?

Thanks in advance...

That will depend on a number of factors. If the installation is pursuant to a sales agreement and is of specialized industrial equipment, then the business-visitor provisions may apply. If not, then a Service Canada Confirmation may be required.

work permit

We have several customers in Canada that have our equipment. There is no service contract sold with the original equipment. Ocaisionaly i have to send servicemen to Canada to work on said equipment due to breakdowns with out a lot of notice given by the customer. Imigration always give us a hard time to gain entry.
I was told that the customer has to initiat the paper work to get our man into Canada. I told one customer this and he blew a gasket saying it was my responsability. Could you pleas tell me what our men need to gain acces to Canada.
thanks

A Service Canada Confirmation is required. These applications can be driven by your company instead of the customer. Depending on the circumstances, these officials will provide expedited processing of this type of case when the situation is urgent.
