Changing jobs

With regards to changing jobs, does the process of presenting the work permit application to a Visa office still apply? e.g. Travel to Buffalo to present the application using IMM1295.

Also, is this process impacted by an "In Canada" permanent residency application already underway? For example, do you need to indicate the filing of the PR?

Thanks if anyone has any information on this.

If you are already in Canada with a work permit, you may submit an application for a new work permit to a visa office abroad (e.g., Buffalo), or you may apply for a change of terms within Canada. The duration of the latter application would be expected to be longer.

You can apply for permanent resident status and temporary status at the same time (dual intent). Doing so will not harm your application for permanent resident status. However, your application for temporary status can be affected because an impression could be created that you do not intend to leave Canada upon the expiration of your temporary status.

Thanks for that response. It makes the process a bit clearer.
