Changing Employer

Postby msurya2007 on Wed Aug 22, 2007 1:03 pm

HI there,

I recently graduated (in April) from University of Western Ontario. I am now working under post graduation work permit in this one law firm as an IT Support (I got a year PGWP and I am working in GTA). The thing is I find that my employer is really horrible and I felt like I am getting taken advantage of. I have a friend that own an IT consultant business and he is actually wiling to employ me and of course with a better benefit.

I also heard that employer has to send a letter to CIC when I quit that job before my PGWP expired. My PGWP will expire in July 2008, does this mean I don't have much time left until I can get a new job?

Now I heard that the St Clair Office can transfer my permit from one employer to another employer and the process takes really quick from what I heard. I just want to know if this is true and where is this office? Also what documents do I have to bring to transfer from my current employer to my future employer?

Thanks
