Change of work permit

Postby gayan17 on Sat Nov 28, 2009 1:33 am

Hi, I am here in Canada on an open work permit. I have been working for about one and a half year so far. My work permit expires in January, exactly in two months. My employer would like to offer me a job, basically wants me to continue my work. My questions are,
1. Since I have been working with the same company for past few months, does the employer have to obtain a LMO? Does he require an LMO? (I initially didn't have to give a LMO since I have my current open work permit)
2. If the employer has to provide an LMO, how long will it take to process in Ontario? How much will it cost?
3. What will happen to me if I can't get the LMO confirmed before Jan 31, do I have to leave the country.
4. Will the application 1249 and the job offer letter enough for the CIC in Vergreville, AB to process my work permit. All I need is a couple of months to stay here, till I get my PR staightened.

Please help me to find the answers to the above.
Thanks
