I am working Sr. Project Manager in leading IT company, who have asked me to go to Montreal to work on a project in leading bank.

The company is going to file my work permit in next week. I would like to know few details about Canada visa for my wife and daughter.

1. Which visa my wife and daughter need to apply, for their visit to Canada. My current project is of 2 yrs.

2. I plan to enroll my daughter in school in Montreal during my stay. Is there any specific visa required for admission to school. She is 5 yrs old.

3. Can my wife work on dependant visa or does she need to apply for work permit.

4. What are the timelines for Work Permit visa processing.

You will have to apply for dependent visa for your wife and daughter. If your company is processing your visa they can submit the application for the dependent visa as well. Everything just goes in one application when applying as family and it is easy. I am sure your wife can go to school without any special visa. After landing in Canada your wife can apply for a open work permit in order to work in Canada. But she cant work while she is in dependent visa. This is for all the states except Quebec. But Quebec may have some different rules. You may want to check that clearly.
