Looking for a clarification on same point. I have a temp work permit for one year. My wife works in US. As she becomes dependent. Can she work in canada as a dependent? Or is there any other visa type for dependents to work? Please educate.

There is no provision for an automatic work permit for the dependent of a Canadian. The standard visa requirements would exist.

If such a dependent is sponsored in an inland family class permanent resident application, and following approval-in-principle of such, an open work permit would then become available.
