Begin a trial work before obtaining a work permit ?

Hi, David
I would ask if you can help with the process for obtaining work permits. In fact, my situation is as follows:

I am currently in Canada on a tourist visa, because I came to visit my father who is a Canadian citizen and I have a right to stay six months. I come from Croatia and I got a tourist visa for entry to Canada at the airport, Croatia visitor visa - exempt!

In the meantime I got a job offer and my future employer has sent the request in the LMO to grant him that he could hire me and now awaiting their response.

My first question is:
I'm interested in whether LMO may authorize my employer to hire me for a test run before I get a work permit which will ask the embassy in Vienna, because I am from Croatia.

My second question is:
When and if I get a positive response from the Canadian Embassy in Vienna, whether to go back to Croatia and back again to Canada in order to obtain a work permit to enter the country or work permit from Canada can confirm at the border with respect because I currently in Canada as a visitor

Excuse me for a long text and I thank you in advance for your valued response

No, a LMO approval is not a work permit and in no way allows for the commencement of work prior to the issuance of the work permit. However, you can process the work permit at the port of entry, which means it could be done as quickly as the same day as LMO approval.
