Arranged Employment but only Secondary School Diploma

Postby alfredosalinas on Mon Jan 02, 2012 1:53 pm

Hi!

I'm from Mexico, and I currently have an arranged job offer in Toronto, and I'm trying to figure out which would be the best way to apply because I don't have post secondary education (had to quit due economic problems).

However, the kind of skills I have (project analysis, design and management) are for a very specific niche market (motorized/automated solar protection products)

I have 6 years of experience in this field, and 15 years of work experience overall, I'm 31 years old.

My intention is to move there permanently, but my question is, should I apply for a temporary work permit and then for the permanent residence? or should I go for the permanent residence from the start? I'd prefer to move there as soon as possible so leaning towards the temporary work permit, but the success chance also is very important.

I would also like to know if i'm likely to get either the temporary work permit or the permanent residence in my current situation.

Thank you!

In any application, an official will need to be satisfied that a candidate possesses the education and/or training needed to meet the defined requirements of the occupation in which he or she is classified. The absence of a post-secondary education could, at least in some cases, limit the ability to satisfy an official that this is the case. Having said that, there are too many variables to be able to make general statements about eligibility in any given program based on the information supplied.
