Applying for LMO with a Post-Graduate Work Permit

Hi there,

How are you?

I have a question regarding achieving a LMO while holding a Post-Graduate Work Permit (PGWP). I have been informed through other people in the board about the new law imposed by the HRSDC saying that they have exempted the need to demonstrate recruitment efforts from the employers for the employees applying for LMO with a Post-Graduate Work Permit and I also have confirmed this issue today by calling the HRSDC Toronto office.

So, my next question is, how difficult is it to get a positive LMO with a PGWP with this new law? Has it become really easier? My job is in the marketing field, and how difficult would it be to get a positive LMO with the PGWP for this job?

Are there any people here in the board who got rejected unfortunately or approved of LMO while holding a Post-Graduate Work Permit? The HRSDC officer told me that the LMO process is a bit relaxed for the people with a PGWP, but I am just trying to understand if it's really true.

Could anyone please provide me with their experience (which job category you applied for and the result, either positive or negative) for the people with a Post-Graduate Work Permit applying for a LMO?

Thank you so much for reading my questions.
Thanks!

Cheers!

Service Canada's present policy (there have been no legislative changes) is to allow applications without evidence of recruiting in the cases of Canadian employers seeking to retain employees on the post-graduation work permit program. Beyond this, the viability of any given case will depend on the local labour market and the position being offered. There is no general answer as to how easy or difficult a case would be.
