Application in process in NY office

Postby Eamon on Mon Feb 21, 2011 11:26 am

Hi All,

I am an Irish citizen currently living in Bermuda. I applied for a transfer with my current employer to the Toronto office and had this request accepted. I received my job offer letter last November, but held off on applying until I had received my positive LMO. Once I had received this I mailed my application to the New York office. My application was received by the office on Jan 6th.

After the fact - I had an email from a friend saying that he had just landed at the airport and applied there and then, once he had his job offer and LMO.

My query is if this option would be still available to me or whether I should just hold off and wait for my application to be processed. The processing times published state 28 days for the New York office however this has passed. I have contacted the office and they have not gotten back to me. I am eager to see this process finished as my fiance who is a Canadian citizen has relocated since the begining of this month and I want to begin our new life together as soon as possible.

I hope someone can help with this or give me an estimate on how long I will be waiting for my application to be processed.

Thanks and regards,

E.

Submission of the case at the airport (i.e., the port of entry) remains a viable option even though the application is pending at the visa office in NYC.
