Any easier way to cut the RED TAPE?

Postby ozgas on Fri Apr 15, 2005 12:28 am

Hello,

I met a Filipino girl while in Montreal and she lives in the Phillippines. We have known each other for over 3 years now and are ready to tie the knot.

By doing that, does it make it easier for her to come live in Canada?

Any tips on facilitating going through the "red tape" as it were?

Ozgas,

Assuming that the relationship is considered bona-fide by the Canadian immigration authorities, then you marriage would allow you to sponsor the individual under the provisions of the Family Class. Whether or not this reduces the complexity of her case would depend on her eligibility for alternate provisions for immigration (i.e., the skilled worker program).
