Hi David,

I am from India, I recently got VISA to Canada ( After LMO clearance).
I have one more month to travel to Canada, in this time I am planning to apply VISA for my wife.She is house wife and she will not be working in future too.

Could you please answer my following questions

- Is it fine to apply dependent visa for her ? ( or Open work permit ? )
If so, please guide me the procedure
- Can I apply from India when I am here? ( or can apply only after I reach Canada?)

You may apply for either temporary resident (visitor) admission or an open work permit, assuming that your position is considered high skilled and for a duration of more than 6 months. You may do so either with your own application or at a later date. The specific requirements of either approach are published by the visa offices in India.
