Additional Work

Postby dorianGray on Wed Mar 16, 2011 10:09 am

I have a Software Products Developer (NOC 9990.6) Visa and have a full time job in Canada which falls under this visa, I am a British citizen.

What are the rules around being able to do additional work to make some extra money on the side whilst I am in Canada. For example say I wanted to make some websites or do some club photography in the evenings etc, would I be allowed to do this? Or would I need to apply for an aditional work permit?

Thanks

An additional work permit would be needed for any Canadian employer/position/location other than that stated in your present work permit. If you find work for an employer outside Canada without a Canadian presence, then such work can typically be done without a work permit.
