Actual end of implied status

Postby netvalue on Tue Nov 22, 2011 7:58 pm

Sorry if this has been asked before, I've tried looking it up but couldn't find it.

My situation: I applied for a new work permit before the expiration of my old one. I haven't left Canada since so I am allowed to work under the same conditions as my old work permit.
Today my employer has received a negative LMO and has just notified me.

My question is: does my implied status end today with the news that I haven't got a positive LMO, or am I allowed to stay (and work under the same conditions as my old WP) until a decision has been made by CIC?

Thank you.

Implied status is generally contingent on the decision rendered by CIC and not Service Canada. There could remain the opportunity to resubmit the LMO case and possibly get approval if the reasons for refusal are sufficiently addressed.
