Acompanying Spouse

Postby Jill on Thu May 26, 2011 12:47 pm

Hello everyone,

I have very simple question in regards to accompanying spouse.

My husband is about to apply for work permit. I am a Canadian Citizen. We are both moving to Canada. When he fills out the work permit application should he put me as accompanying spouse? As I am not applying for a visa I am not sure how this should be filled out.

Please let me know.

Thank you,
Jill

You should be named as a family member in the application but it may state that you are non-accompanying as you are not seeking a permit or visa as part of the application. A covering letter explaining the situation may be beneficial as it is out of the ordinary and not clearly covered by the content of the form.
