A New Government RULE

Postby Drazfoo79 on Mon Aug 18, 2008 5:19 pm

Hi,
I have just started to work with a Lawyer in Vancouver to help me gain residency in Canada.
I will be using my hairdressing skills to enter the country. However my lawyer has just informed me that the government can reject the application if they feel they dont require any hairdressers.

Has anyone else come across this yet and if so can you share your thoughts on the matter. I have all the skills and points to gain access plus i have family in Toronto but the fact that the government can reject the application does tarnish the process.

I look forward to any replies.

Kind regards

John

Changes to the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act have been approved (Bill C-50), which will permit the Minister of Immigration to close pending applications (submitted following on or following February 27 2008) which do not correspond to Canada's labour market requirements. Consultations are presently ongoing, and the affected occupations have not yet been identified.
