In theory, there is nothing that would prevent 2 simultaneous applications for HRSDC Confirmation of 2 differing job offers. That confirmation process is intended to determine the suitability of a Canadian job offer to a foreign worker. As such, if there is no negative labour market impact as a result of the employment of a foreign worker, and as long as you were considered eligible to meet the requirements of each position, both such applications could be approved.
hi david, many thanks to your reply, actually the two employers are now on the process of filing an application w/ the HRSDC, but the job they are offering is on the same NOC classifiaction, which is animal technician. is it still possible to accept both job offers?
it happened to me a month ago, I had 2 job offers and called the HRDC local office to ask if both cmpanies can apply for the approval. They said NO.
I was told that (in a rather impolite voice) that in case they both apply for the HRDC approval, the officer will call the both companies and tell them to "straighten things out"... it seems like a lot depends on the HRDC officers in your area....
There is nothing that specifically bars concurrent Confirmation applications. If it is reasonable to expect that the individual is able to work in both positions in the same period of time, then it is a perfectly viable scenario. An example would be someone who seeks Confirmation to engage in separate freelance positions.
If, on the other hand, the concurrent applications are sought as a manner of hedging the candidate's bets, and it is not reasonable to assume both positions could be pursued concurrently (i.e., two full time positions occurring during the same shift), then HRSDC would no doubt find the applications peculiar and seek clarification. In such a case, it is likely that HRSDC would refuse to process the applications until it is clear which application is genuine.
