$ 1000 at canadain port of entry

Dear friend..

I am in a confused state of mind..I really do not know whether $ 1000 i have to carry to show at port of entry. It is mandatory or not. I am newly accepted permanent resident for Saskatchewan province under SNIP program..As i have found that they have used word "At this time, you may also be asked to show proof of your funds." in there official site http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/ ... n-03.asp...

Can any one get me out of this rule...If i have to carry then in which way it will be more convenient..
Waiting for good reply.....
thank you

Evidence of proof of funds may be in any form that demonstrates your possession of assets in a liquid and transferable form. You do not necessarily need to be in possession of currency as long as the requirement is otherwise fulfilled.
