1 year work experience requirement

Postby poonawam on Sun May 11, 2008 3:13 pm

Hi,

I worked for a company in the US for 6 months. I resigned, took a 2 week break and transferred to the same company's Toronto office and have been working there for another 6 months. Do I meet the one year work experience requirement or will the 2 week break mean that I have to wait another 6 months until I have a full year of "continuous" work experience?

Please respond as this will determine when I can apply for PR.

Thanks.

A typical full time position of employment in Canada would permit for approximately two weeks. As such, assuming that your position was not terminated by the US office prior to transfer, there is a reasonable argument that the work has been continuous.
